Salar de Uyuni

We finished our 4-day tour in the world’s largest salt flat, the famous Salar de Uyuni. We stayed in a salt hotel (genuinely made from blocks of salt ) and got up at 4:30am so we could be on the Salar for sunrise, which was otherworldly and ethereal. The vast expanse of salt looks like snow and feels like another planet. Because of its incredible flatness, whiteness and the distance of the horizon, you can use the perspective to take amazing and hilarious photos. We also climbed Incahuasi, an “island” which rises out of the salt flats and is covered in cacti.
